Challenge Update

O.K, few days ago I challenged my self to make a set of boy's garments to make my skills grow and add in in to my repertoir. Well, here's the update. I made a pair of pants, they are still half done as you see here. They are made out of Giorgio Armani fabric, the color is actually softer than the one shown here, the flash on the camera made it look much stronger and brighter, I hate flash!

Well anyway, here's the front and back part. Yeah baby, you see it right, those are bound pocket on the back part of the pants. It took few practices to get it nice and neat and crisp. But I did it, yaaayyy! The whole pants can probably be done in a day or two, but since I'm taking care of 3 kids, it will take me 2 weeks :).

Versace

Just leave it on Versace to make a hip, youthful, figure flattering garments. Just like this beige dress from her fall/winter 2008 collection, can you just picture your self in this dress? It is SO wearable, you can wear it ANYWHERE.

And who says you can only wear browns and greys during fall and winter season, take a look at this super cute dress by Versace, the silhouette and the color of the garment is so cute and fresh, it will make fall/winter months feel like spring and summer.

Cute Garments

Take a look at these garments, aren't they just so stinkin' cute? These are from Pitti Bimbo, a trade show for children garments and accessories, it would be a dream come true if one day I could be one of the participants.
These are what's you're going to see for fall/winter 2008. A lot of greys and pinks and purples.

Challenge

I decided to challenge myself to make a set of boy's garment. It's going to be a bit hard to do tailoring, but I know I won't be able to grow if I don't do this. I had some sketches I did yesterday and I will start making patterns and cutting my fabrics. I will post some pics once it is half done, and will post again once it is done.

Boots

Look at those Balenciaga Gladiator Boots y'all! Don't they just scream "statement" or what! LOVE 'em!

How?

Take a look at this dress by Akris Spring 2008 Ready To Wear. It is amazing, isn't it? But how do you sew something like this y'all?

Not Enough Sleep

It's 7.15 a.m and I am sooooo tired this morning. I was awake most of the night because of the kids. I probably only had 4 hours sleep total last night. I'm going to brew me some coffee, although I don't know why, because I can only drink decaf, lol :). But I love the smell of coffee, so I will make one anyway even if it is decaf.

I will try to make some patterns today and try to work on hubby's new website, he's going to sell his star wars and star trek collections in his new website. We just bought the domain name last night.

O.K, off to the kitchen making some coffee and fix breakfast for the munchkins.

Jumper

Do you know Balenciaga's gladiator look that's been all over fashion magazines lately? I wasn't really crazy about it at first, but now it kinda grows on me lol :). Anyway, I thought that "gladiator" would make a great inspiration. So I made a jumper dress and made the skirt pleated to kinda mimic the "gladiator" look. Maybe I should call it the gladiator jumper lol :)

Runway

I love how wearable Michael Kors' dresses are. Just like this piece from his Fall/Winter 2008, I can see making the children version of this dress.

I love the simplicity of Calvin Klein's designs. Eventhough they are simple, but I think they still have a lot of "omph". Just like a couple of these pics below, you can dress it up and you can dress it down.

And I always love Versace, I love how a lot of the dresses have very interesting back. Like this piece from Haute Couture Spring 2008, don't you just love the back of this dress?!

Those pieces are really inspiring to me. Now let me just go back to my sketching paper and sewing machine :)

Art

I have always love art, and before my children was born I was really into drawing and painting pin-ups. I found these artworks that I did in 2006 tucked away, and they brought a lot of memories. I have few more tucked away somewhere, I think I might need to find them this weekend and share them with you all.
